The Oskar von Miller Forum is an international educational initiative of the Bavarian construction industry to promote the training of engineers in the construction industry at the Technical University of Munich.Supported by the Bavarian Construction Industry Foundation, the technically innovative building houses flats and flats with spacious communal areas for students and visiting academics from many nations. In addition, a bistro, a library, a music room and several event and lecture rooms are available to residents directly on the Altstadtring in the heart of Munich.
Due to its city centre location, the striking south side of the building complex is exposed to considerable noise immissions. A glazed, folded double façade provides additional sound insulation and solar protection on the upper floors. For the event areas on the ground floor, the required sound insulation was realised with a single façade. Specially developed translucent wall elements, which can be folded and swivelled, were designed to be sound-absorbing on both sides for the lower wall areas of the open lecture and conference zones. The student flats have double-skin wall constructions, increased impact sound insulation and branch lines from the neighbouring common rooms to ensure that the various functional areas in the complex building are sufficiently acoustically insulated.
areas in the complex building with sufficient acoustic separation.
