On 27th September 2023, the season began with a celebratory opening concert in front of an enthusiastic audience.
Just in time for the start of the new concert season 2023/24, the renovation of the seating in the Historic Reitstadel in Neumarkt was successfully completed. While acceptance measurements of the prototype chairs were still taking place in the hall in August, the audience and musicians now delight in the expertly restored seating in the renowned Reitstadel, known for its exceptional acoustics. During the opening concert featuring the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra conducted by cellist Istaván Várdai, the audience and performers were able to witness the visually and acoustically successful renovation firsthand.
MÜLLER-BBM Building Solutions provided comprehensive acoustical support for the entire renovation project, conducting extensive acoustic measurements in the Reitstadel itself and within the company’s testing facilities – the hall, soundproof booth, and materials testing laboratory. Acoustical tests were performed on both the existing chairs and the renovated chairs, and upholstery materials were tested and optimized in collaboration with the chair manufacturer. The result speaks for itself: a final on-site reference measurement confirmed that the outstanding sound characteristics of the Reitstadel were not only preserved but even subtly enhanced after the renovation.
