The Kirschgärten residential development in Munich continues to take shape: The second construction phase will add 384 rental apartments built using sustainable hybrid timber construction. Munich’s Lord Mayor Dominik Krause and Head of Urban Planning Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Merk attended the groundbreaking ceremony on 8 October. We are pleased to have been involved in the development of this new neighbourhood for several years.

Kulturraffinerie K714 in Monheim am Rhein opened its doors in early September. The listed industrial building has been transformed into a highly flexible concert and event venue. We supported the project with overall building physics consultancy, building and room acoustics, and audiovisual systems planning.

Sinfonia Varsovia marked the completion of the first construction phase of its new home in Warsaw with an opening concert. While three historic buildings have already been revitalised, the overall project is now moving into its next phase with the new main concert hall. he new Volkstheater Rostock is continuing to take shape. The laying of the foundation stone at the end of August marked another important milestone on the way towards the new multi-genre theatre at Bussebart. Two performance venues with a total of 850 seats are planned for drama, music theatre, concerts and dance.

Good acoustics often go unnoticed – they usually only become apparent when they aren’t working properly. At DAGA 2026, it took center stage for four days. As part of the Müller-BBM Group, we were on site, contributing with presentations on maximum pass-by sound levels in environmental noise control (Dr. Andreas Meier) and on the suitability of an impulse source for reverberation time measurements (Kilian Schneider, TH Rosenheim), as well as with a paper on the in-situ assessment of transparent noise barriers, available online here.

In exchange with industry peers, the focus was on timber construction, acoustics, and how planning, mixed-use concepts and building physics shape the long-term quality of urban districts.
