The first construction phase of Sinfonia Varsovia’s new home in Warsaw has been completed. At 272 Grochowska Street, three historic buildings of the former Veterinary Institute have been revitalised and converted into new spaces for chamber music, education and the orchestra’s day-to-day work.
On 10 September 2026, this first phase was inaugurated with an invitation-only concert featuring Wojciech Kilar’s Orawa and Benjamin Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. Müller-BBM Building Solutions was represented on site by project manager Michael Prüfer.
The overall project, designed by Atelier Thomas Pucher, is now entering its next phase. At the heart of the second construction phase will be the new main concert hall with approximately 1,850 seats. Its geometry combines elements of the classical shoebox hall with the vineyard principle.
Our team has been supporting this international cultural project since the architectural competition, providing room acoustics and building acoustics expertise throughout all planning phases. Sinfonia Varsovia thus continues our long-standing work on demanding concert, cultural and performance venues. For the new main concert hall, our work has included extensive room-acoustic computer simulations as well as measurements using a purpose-built 1:10 scale acoustic model.
