As part of an international architectural competition for the new concert hall of the renowned Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra in Warsaw, the winning design was awarded in 2011 to the Graz-based firm Atelier Thomas Pucher. The new building includes a large classical concert hall with approximately 1,850 seats, a chamber music hall, a foyer, as well as rehearsal spaces and tuning rooms for the orchestra. In addition to the new concert hall structure, three historic buildings located on the concert hall site are being comprehensively renovated. These will house smaller concert venues, rehearsal rooms, a music academy, and the orchestra’s administrative offices.

Project planning began in 2016 and was completed in 2021. Renovation work on the existing buildings commenced in 2024, with overall project completion scheduled for no earlier than 2030.

Müller-BBM Building Solutions has been comprehensively supporting the project from the outset of the competition through all planning phases in matters of room and building acoustics. In addition to classic consultancy services, vibration measurements were carried out on the construction site, along with extensive room acoustic computer simulations and acoustic measurements in a 1:10 scale model of the main concert hall.
