Frankfurt’s Paulskirche is far more than a historic monument. As the meeting place of the first German National Assembly in 1848/49, it continues to stand for democratic debate, social understanding and the question of how public spaces bring people together.
An interdisciplinary planning team has now been commissioned for the upcoming renovation. We are pleased to be contributing to this special project together with the architecture firm Wandel Lorch Götze Wach and other specialist planners.
Our work focuses on building physics issues relating to thermal and moisture protection, with an additional focus on room acoustics and sound insulation. Particularly in a venue and place of remembrance such as the Paulskirche, speech intelligibility is essential, events must function reliably, and new requirements must be integrated with respect for the historic fabric.
We are very pleased to be taking on this task at a place of great national significance.
