On 29 May 2026, the Rudolf Buchbinder Hall in Grafenegg was officially opened as a new venue for chamber music, concerts and events. The new chamber music hall in the revitalised Reitschule Grafenegg is one of the projects for which we provided comprehensive room acoustics consulting from the competition phase through to the opening.
At the opening ceremony, Governor of Lower Austria Johanna Mikl-Leitner and Simone Bamberg, Managing Director of Grafenegg Kulturbetriebsgesellschaft, addressed numerous guests from culture, politics, business and the Austrian cultural sector. Michael Wahl, the project engineer responsible on behalf of Müller-BBM Building Solutions, also attended the opening.
However, the focus of the evening was on the new chamber music hall itself and its namesake, Rudolf Buchbinder, who shaped the musical inauguration together with soprano Camilla Nylund and the Steude Quartet, with the evening moderated by Barbara Rett.
The historic Reitschule was reinterpreted between 2023 and 2026 based on a design by Architekten Maurer & Partner ZT GmbH. Generous windows overlooking the palace park and a so-called Zollinger roof made of light spruce wood with pyramid-shaped structures define the spatial impression of the new hall.
With the Rudolf Buchbinder Hall, we are continuing our long-standing and successful collaboration with Grafenegg: Müller-BBM was already responsible for the acoustics of the Wolkenturm and the Auditorium.
