Building Acoustics
The private residence in Berlin Grunewald is a unique detached house that follows new paths in its design language. The floors can be separated into several apartments and remain accessible via a staircase spanning several floors. The building can thus be adapted to different living situations. The garage houses a wellness area with pool, sauna and fitness facilities. When choosing the materials, great importance was attached to durability and recyclability. The building is heated by geothermal energy and the orientation of the building reacts to the position of the sun.
Special partition wall constructions and acoustically optimized connection details make it possible to design the living space layout flexibly in the future and ensure a high level of acoustic comfort for all variants. This geometrically and structurally sophisticated construction method was optimized in terms of energy efficiency with the help of three-dimensional thermal bridge analyses. The use of high-quality solar control insulating glazing made it possible to dispense with any external solar control measures, so that the desired monolithic façade character is completely retained.
