An 8-storey building with 50 identical 2-room senior flats and a day care centre on the ground floor was built in the St. Leonhard district of Nuremberg. The site is located between a listed school and an old cemetery, surrounded by striking trees and a wall. Each of the seven flats per storey is arranged like a windmill around a central access space.

The façades of the building are narrow and orientated towards the gable ends of the surrounding area, with the opaque exterior walls made of rendered thermal insulation bricks. The property was designed and realised in accordance with the BEG Efficiency House 55 subsidy standard.

Due to the location of the building directly above the underground railway tunnel, a deep foundation was laid with bored piles positioned to the side of the underground railway line. A load-bearing grid of pile cap beams was provided on top of the bored piles, which supports the pre-stressed reinforced concrete slab of the building's basement. An elastic bearing was installed between the pile head beams and the reinforced concrete slab. This effectively reduces the impact of vibrations on the building and the flats caused by the underground railway.
