A new school was built for the Japanese community in Munich. In addition to a gymnasium, which can also be used as an assembly hall, the construction of 16 classrooms was planned for the four-storey building. A particular challenge was to meet the short planning and construction times of just 18 months. Within this time, an attractive building was created for the client that fulfils the requirements of a modern school.Modern and adapted room acoustics were created for the gymnasium and classrooms. For this purpose, the gymnasium was equipped with ball-proof, sound-absorbing elements both in parts of the walls and in the ceiling area. The room can be used as a temporary performance and event venue as part of school operations. Due to its location in an industrial estate, sound insulation against external noise was considered. In collaboration with the architect, customised measures were also developed for the sound insulation of the interior fittings in lightweight construction between the room areas.
