The youth center presents itself as a simple and concise structure. A veranda formed by slender columns creates a zone of soft transition from outside to inside. With its multifunctional event room, its practice and group rooms, a band rehearsal room including a recording studio and a café, the largely timber construction offers a wide range of uses for a large number of Starnberg groups and clubs.
Due to the planned range of uses, it was necessary to develop highly sound-insulated timber constructions. In addition to sound insulation within the building, increased requirements for sound immission control also had to be taken into account.
The room acoustics in the respective event and group rooms were also geared towards the very diverse use of the building.
The funding program to be considered for the building stipulated that the requirements of EnEV 2007 were to be undercut by > 25 %. These requirements were reliably met thanks to an increased energy standard of the exterior components and a local heating concept that is favorable in terms of primary energy. Great attention was also paid to the correct thermal and diffusion moisture design of the timber construction connection details.
