In the center of Leipzig, the Propsteikirche St. Trinitatis is the largest new church building in East Germany since reunification.
The building, which has since won several awards, is characterized by the cube of the dominant church interior and the slender church tower opposite. The building structure with the publicly accessible vicarage extends between the two poles. The 13,000 m³ church hall offers space for around 600 visitors. The complex also houses a multi-purpose community hall with 150 seats and an adjoining reading café, as well as the administration and living quarters of the provostry.

When planning the church interior, the aim was to harmonize the clear, minimalist architecture with the requirements for the intelligibility of the spoken word and an excellent organ sound. The modern public address system is optimally tuned to the room acoustics with a reverberation time of approx. 2.5 s (occupied) without its technical components visually imposing themselves in the foreground. The latter also applies to the acoustically effective surfaces, which were integrated inconspicuously into the ceiling and rear wall areas.

The church is located directly on the busy inner city ring road, which meant that the exterior components, especially the windows of the church interior, had to be highly sound-insulated. Particular attention was also paid to the physical construction planning for energy saving and sustainability.
