Designed as a PPP project in passive house standard, the Poing secondary school was built close to the existing schools and forms a school center together with them. The focal point of the school is the large assembly hall, which extends over several floors and is used both as a place for pupils to spend time and as a venue for events. A bright and open atmosphere invites pupils to linger, while at the same time the upper floors, where the classrooms and specialist rooms are located, are accessed via side staircases.
Particular attention was paid to the building and room acoustics, especially in the central assembly hall and in the adjoining multi-purpose and music rooms. Targeted sound-absorbing measures in the ceiling and wall areas enable the desired multifunctional range of uses for the auditorium. Due to the location of the building next to a residential area, immission control aspects regarding the use of the sports hall in the evenings and the parking spaces also had to be taken into account. The quality of the construction work was verified by means of extensive acceptance measurements, both in terms of noise and indoor air conditions.
