The new Munich International School building in Starnberg is the structural extension of the Senior School. In addition to the basement, the building has two floors above ground. Starting from the centrally located foyer, the classrooms are located in the four wings of the building according to their subject areas. These include specialist rooms for music and art, design and technology as well as society and languages. The corridor areas are also designed as workspaces, where a mixture of communication and concentrated individual work can take place. In addition to the central foyer, which mainly serves to provide access to the building, the two-storey auditorium forms the focal point of the school.

As part of the overall building physics consultation, the individual departments were closely interlinked in order to meet the sometimes conflicting requirements. For example, fire protection and sound insulation had to be taken into account for the connecting doors between the classrooms. The desired level of sound insulation was confirmed on the basis of building acoustics measurements. The room acoustics consultation focused on the multifunctional auditorium, which is equipped with wood paneling with different acoustic effects, as well as the music rooms and classrooms.
