From September 8 to 10, Dr. Eckard Mommertz, Johannes Scheyerle, and Felix Beckmann took part in Auditorium Acoustics 2025 at the freshly renovated Bristol Beacon, returning inspired and with sincere thanks to the Institute of Acoustics for the excellent organization.

Throughout the event, an open and stimulating atmosphere encouraged intensive professional exchange and lively discussion.

Acoustic Highlights

• Demonstration of how stage monitor loudspeakers affect audience acoustic perception, illustrated by a jazz trio
• Musical exploration of the Beacon Hall with the Avon Sonic Orchestra and the Avalon Wind Quartet, allowing participants to experience different visual and auditory perspectives
• Presentations of active acoustic systems, including a demonstration of spatial reverberation perception

Within the “Active Acoustics” theme, Dr. Eckard Mommertz presented our work at the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk as a case study, showing how the originally pure concert hall was flexibly adapted to new requirements through targeted acoustic modifications and installation of the Vivace system.

An open closing panel on the future of room acoustics provided the perfect conclusion to the conference.
