We are delighted about the award presented to the Diözesanmuseum Freising, which received the Bauen im Bestand 2025 Prize in the category “Buildings constructed before 1900”. The Isarphilharmonie at Gasteig HP8 was likewise recognized as an outstanding contribution in the category “Buildings constructed between 1900 and 1945”.
The prize is presented by the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, in cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts and the Federal Foundation of Baukultur.
Müller-BBM Building Solutions was extensively involved in both projects – from technical planning through to implementation. Close collaboration with the clients, architects and specialist planners made these complex refurbishment and conversion projects possible, and we are proud to have contributed significantly to the structural and acoustic quality of both buildings.
The Building in Existing Structures Prize honors projects that advance existing architecture in a contemporary manner, employing innovative solutions for preservation, sustainability and energy efficiency. Out of 194 submissions, 68 projects were included on the longlist, 37 on the shortlist and finally 13 were nominated. Key jury criteria include the responsible use of “embodied energy”, resource-efficient modernization of historic building fabric, and high architectural and technical quality. These factors increasingly shape the broader discourse on sustainable building and the future of existing structures in Germany.
Congratulations to all involved!
