Europe's largest school sports hall

Eight halls, two levels, one acoustic concept

An eight-part sports hall has been built at the Berliner Ring school centre in Monheim am Rhein, which can be used as a single complex or as two independent four-part halls. With around 4,400 m² of sports space, additional ancillary areas and a retractable telescopic grandstand for up to 500 people, it is designed for school, club and event use.

The new building was completed last year and was realised by the NUSSLI Group as a total contractor in a modular, prefabricated design. We planned the building and room acoustics and provided consulting services. The focus was on the acoustic design of the large-volume hall areas, the separation of the usage units and ensuring good speech intelligibility – even during parallel use and grandstand operation.

The video below from the NUSSLI Group provides a vivid impression of the dimensions and implementation.
