The Rosenthaler Hof in Berlin-Mitte was converted into a modern office and administrative building as part of a comprehensive revitalisation project. Originally built in 1903, the complex still features the only preserved original façade of a former Wertheim department store, as well as a cast-iron skeleton structure with floor-to-ceiling round columns — elements that were carefully exposed during the renovation and integrated into the new spatial concept. As part of the refurbishment measures, the building envelope was completely refurbished and the interior was completely remodelled. A previously open courtyard was transformed into an atrium by constructing a glass roof. The building is mainly used for administrative purposes. Müller-BBM Building Solutions took on the complete consultancy for the project as the specialist planner for thermal insulation and building physics.
