In the immediate vicinity of Franz Liszt's birthplace, which is used as a museum, a new concert hall has been built that is entirely dedicated to Liszt's musical works. In his day, Franz Liszt was a pianist and composer who was celebrated throughout Europe, attracting audiences throughout his life and being celebrated like a pop star. During his lifetime (1811 - 1886), a new type of space for the interpretation of music emerged in Europe: the concert hall. The competition brief specified a rectangular room as a music hall, as this is the original form of concert hall development. The result was a room for around 600 people with a medium-sized podium of approx. 90 m². At the same time, consideration was given to creating a large, level stalls area so that the hall could be used for conferences and banquets. Only the rear parquet area was equipped with a slightly raised row to ensure good visibility and good direct sound supply. The classic rectangular hall with a volume of approx. 5000 m³ was fitted with interior panelling made of solid spruce wood panels weighing up to 350 kg. The three-dimensionally convex curved surface structure of the panels, which is barely visible to the observer, diffuse sound distribution and at the same time prevents the formation of annoying flutter echoes.
