The aspects of sustainability were consistently pursued during the design and execution phase of the building project Karolinen-Karree. An energy concept and facade design was developed for the office space ensuring excellent thermal comfort at low operating energy consumption.Müller-BBM Building Solutions performed all consulting services regarding building physics of the Karolinen-Karree. In addition, special services concerning building climatology and daylight technology were provided. This enabled the design team to evaluate the numerous interactions between operation of the building and facade in detail and to develop a consistent, high-quality master plan. Müller-BBM also provided the major facade planning services in collaboration with the architects which enabled them to strictly implement the concepts in the actual facade construction. The building's outstanding quality was awarded the Silver Certification of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). Müller-BBM Building Solutions also provided the client with technical support in connection with this certification of sustainability.
