In the Krupp Belt between Essen city center and the Altendorf district, a new corporate headquarters for ThyssenKrupp's main administration has been established. The building complex includes the headquarters, the conference and event building Forum, two segment management buildings, as well as several technical and ancillary buildings.

The buildings were designed energetically to significantly undercut the requirements of the applicable EnEV standards at the time of planning and execution. The headquarters, with its 41-meter-high atrium featuring panoramic windows and a glass roof, symbolizes transparency and openness. The design of the high-quality sun protection glazing in the atrium was based on thermal building simulations and daylighting studies. Additionally, Müller-BBM Building Solutions, in collaboration with the Fraunhofer ISE Institute, optimized the radiophysical properties of the special, rotationally mounted sun protection louvers.

In the conference rooms and the grand hall of the Forum, room acoustics measures were implemented to create high-quality conference acoustics tailored to the design concepts.

All planning services provided by Müller-BBM Building Solutions were developed with special attention to sustainability aspects.

The headquarters received the DGNB Gold certification for sustainable construction.
