Silver for Cyber Valley

The four-storey modular timber building, designed by Dannien Roller Architekten + Partner, provides new research and workspaces for machine learning at the University of Tübingen. Müller-BBM Building Solutions contributed building physics expertise throughout the planning and construction of the new facility.

The building combines a flexible spatial layout with resource-efficient construction. Prefabricated timber modules enabled a remarkably short construction period of just seven months. The project also sets high standards for energy performance: Designed to meet the criteria for Silver certification under the German Sustainable Building Assessment System (BNB), the building was realised as an Energy Plus building with integrated photovoltaics.

At the French Design Awards 2026, the project received Silver in the “Architectural Design – Institutional” category.

We congratulate Dannien Roller Architekten + Partner and everyone involved in the project on this achievement!
