We are delighted to announce that the Innovation Park Augsburg is one of the properties of the year 2024. This outstanding project, which was realised by WALTER Beteiligungen und Immobilien AG in collaboration with Hadi Teherani Architects GmbH, received recognition and thus joins the list of the best construction projects of the year.
The Augsburg Innovation Park impresses with its architectural brilliance. The elegant arch of the building, crowned by a green roof, blends harmoniously into its surroundings and sets new standards for office complexes in the Augsburg Innovation Park. An internationally recognised centre of excellence for the production-oriented development of innovative technologies has been created here on an area of 70 hectares.
Particularly noteworthy is the façade made of 100% recycled aluminium, the first of its kind in the world. This innovative material saves over 500 tonnes of CO2 emissions and underlines the commitment to sustainable construction. Other environmentally friendly technologies such as photovoltaic systems on the roof, highly comfortable heating and cooling sails and the use of groundwater for heating and cooling contribute to the building’s energy efficiency. The extensive green roof also serves as a rainwater reservoir.
Müller-BBM Building Solutions was commissioned to provide comprehensive services in the areas of thermal insulation and energy balancing, to draw up energy concepts and to carry out building physics measurements. We also contributed to sustainability and made decisive contributions to building acoustics, noise immission control and room acoustics. These planning and measurement services are essential to ensure the high ecological and energy standards of the Innovation Arc.
The building is aiming for certification in accordance with the international environmental label Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) with the Platinum Core&Shell standard, which emphasises the project’s high ecological standards.
