The "Hanover City Archive", the largest municipal archive in Lower Saxony, was built in the north of the state capital Hanover. On a total area of around 21,000 m², air-conditioned storage, depot and magazine areas were realised for municipal museums and the city archive. These are complemented by workshops, offices and a public area with a reading room, seminar and exhibition room. The building fulfils the KfW 55 standard and is equipped with a photovoltaic system and a green roof of around 2,700 m². The DGNB certification in platinum emphasises the sustainability of the new building.

Müller-BBM Building Solutions was commissioned with the planning of the thermal insulation and energy balancing and ensured that the high standard of the building was maintained. Our expertise in building acoustics, sound immission control and room acoustics made it possible to create optimal working and usage conditions, both for the archive rooms and for the public areas.
