Room Acoustics

The new building for the community center in Wiesloch was erected in the city center with good connections to the city center. The architectural concept allows barrier-free use of the building on a single level, with no stairs or elevators to impede communication. The courtyard around the existing chestnut tree and the spacious foyer offer visitors plenty of space to meet. Together with the inner courtyard, the new community hall forms the focal point, the 'heart' of the Protestant community center, so to speak. All other uses are arranged in a ring around this new center.

The focus of the consultation was on the development of a high-quality building in terms of energy efficiency, coupled with the structural and room acoustics requirements for a broad-based usage concept. The diverse scenarios of the 'heart' of the new community center were taken into account with a visually and acoustically successful solution: almost invisible to the visitor, the room acoustics measures of the community hall fit into the sophisticated overall architectural concept of wood and glass and ensure the best acoustic conditions for both musical and spoken events, the high quality of which is documented by acceptance measurements. Thanks to the clever arrangement in the center of the building, a very good acoustic separation from the adjacent youth rooms and the administrative wing was achieved.
