After eight years of comprehensive refurbishment, the new CCH Congress Center Hamburg resumed operations in April 2022. The heritage-listed event complex had been extensively modernized, expanded, and equipped with state-of-the-art technology for a multi-purpose and highly flexible type of usage. The new representative foyer provides a barrier-free access to the numerous halls and conference rooms via escalators and elevators.

In the entire building, a high level of structural sound insulation was realized for ensuring the un-restricted simultaneous usage of all halls and conference areas. Moreover, the focus was on attaining a good speech intelligibility in the numerous event and conference rooms. The large glazed foyer was optimized both in terms of room acoustics and building clima-tology. In this connection, extensive simulations were performed for the thermal conditions prevailing in summer and winter.
MÜLLER-BBM Building Solutions was responsible for the conceptual design of the entire structural thermal insulation including the EnEV 2014 certificates (German Energy Saving Ordinance).

A DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) certification in Gold was achieved for the complex. During the process, MÜLLER-BBM Building Solutions provided consultancy for all aspects of thermal insulation, sound insulation, acoustic comfort, and for compiling the certificates.
