Thermal Insulation & Energy Performance Calculation
Two residential buildings with 136 rental apartments have been built on the site of the former fire station and later police station at Rathausstrasse 11 - 12. The old police station has been revitalized in a combination of new construction and renovation. The site not only offers rental units between one and four rooms, but also commercial space, a daycare center and underground parking spaces.
The new buildings were planned in accordance with the requirements for a KfW Efficiency House 70 and have a correspondingly high energy-efficient building quality. All of the calculations specified by KfW, the application and a corresponding leakage measurement were carried out for this purpose. In the area of the façades, the structural thermal insulation of the existing parts of the building was upgraded through internal insulation measures and the application of insulating plaster on the outside. A particular focus was the acoustic assessment of the existing ceiling structures as well as their upgrading and redesign.
