The municipal building yard, which partly consists of a former listed farm, was renovated and extended for the purposes of the Freie Turnerschaft München Süd. A sports hall and a clubhouse were built into the existing barn. The extension, which closes off the barn building to Engelhardstrasse, was converted into an event and multi-purpose hall. As a matter of course, it was possible to preserve and enhance the ambience of the agricultural property.

The floor had to be lowered by 1.50 m for use as a gymnasium. The historic roof truss could be integrated as a visible structure with the help of reinforcement measures. The sound-absorbing ceiling sails, which are attached to the underside of the roof in some areas, together with the sound-absorbing baffle wall, ensure the desired room acoustics for club sports.
The multi-purpose hall was acoustically dimensioned to allow multifunctional use for a wide variety of events. With a great deal of technical effort and creative ideas, it was possible to combine the historical substance with new components and details to create a harmonious overall picture.
