The Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) is a leader in research and teaching and continuously strengthens the transfer of knowledge and technologies into other societal sectors. In particular, the university is highly committed to fostering young talent in the field of chemistry and supporting spin-off initiatives. The focus is on sustainable chemistry, entrepreneurship, and digitalization. The success of Inkulab was a key driver for the development of an ambitious project to promote chemistry-based start-ups. In 2018, the state of Berlin and TU Berlin paved the way for a large-scale pre-incubation center for "Green Chemistry" in the heart of the German capital. The so-called "Chemical Invention Factory" (CIF), a pre-incubation center for "Green Chemistry," will be established on the TU Berlin campus north of Straße des 17. Juni. The new building on the Charlottenburg campus will feature fully equipped laboratories, modern analytical and office spaces, as well as a demo lab with representative event areas.
