In Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Autonomous Region, a state-of-the-art center for culture and the arts was developed, comprising an opera house with 1,800 seats, a concert hall for 1,200 visitors, and a multifunctional hall with 600 seats. The building complex is complemented by extensive ancillary spaces such as rehearsal rooms, artists’ dressing rooms, and workshops to support professional stage operations. The opera house, designed as a modern interpretation of the traditional horseshoe shape, ensures excellent direct sound distribution, optimal sightlines, and is equipped with contemporary stage technology. The concert hall follows the proven shoebox typology and impresses with an ideal reverberation time of over two seconds as well as a warm, balanced sound achieved through a moderate increase in low-frequency reverberation. Thanks to mobile seating, variable acoustics, and the electronic room acoustics system Vivace, the multifunctional hall can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of event formats. The overall media technology planning—including all sound reinforcement systems, audio, video, recording, TV broadcasting, and digital network systems—was carried out by Müller-BBM Building Solutions in close coordination with the client and ensured through intensive site supervision and on-site commissioning.
