In the immediate vicinity of the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg Bahrenfeld, the new "HSV-Campus Nachwuchsleistungszentrum" building was constructed by spring 2017. Dynamism and sportiness are the hallmarks of the building, which accommodates the various functions of the youth development centre on two or three storeys.

The youth training centre includes noisy fitness and warm-up rooms on the one hand and uses that require protection such as seminar and living areas on the other. There is a small playing field on the roof of the building, where the training sessions that take place there are accompanied by unavoidable impact noise. The corresponding acoustic challenges were solved with elastic sports floor structures, which were dimensioned according to the respective application both in terms of sound and with regard to thermal and sealing requirements.
With regard to the large south-facing glass façades of the foyer/audimax and the canteen, a building climate concept was realised with passive measures in the form of thermal storage masses with natural night ventilation. This made it possible to dispense with mechanical ventilation and cooling of these rooms. The project planning for the energy-saving winter thermal insulation was developed in collaboration with the technical building services planner in such a way that a sustainable overall concept for the building was achieved with a 33% reduction in the requirements of EnEV 2014.
