Building Acoustics
The building complex of the congress centre is divided into several compact parts - the seminar and office area in the south-west and the small hall with café in the north-east surround the central foyer, which is covered by a glass roof. The eastern part of the building is dominated by the hall, which is designed for 1,650 people. The hall can be used very flexibly; it can be divided into three smaller halls using mobile partition walls. Lifting podiums and a lowerable ceiling enable further utilisation options.
The Great Hall is acoustically designed primarily for congress use. Parts of the complex folded ceiling sails are designed to effectively absorb sound. The geometry and positioning of the ceiling sails and the wall panelling were acoustically optimised using simulation calculations. In line with the architectural concept, the foyer, which can also be used for events, was suitably acoustically insulated. Among other things, the parapet panelling of the connecting walkways and walkways was designed to be sound-absorbing.
The congress centre places high demands on the parallel use of the divisible halls and seminar rooms. For this purpose, the necessary constructions were selected for the mobile partition walls and details were developed for the required connections to the flanking components.
