Thermal Insulation & Energy Performance Calculation
The state vocational and technical school for musical instrument making in Mittenwald has been given a new wing. The structure fits carefully between the old workshop building and the former forestry office. The three two-storey wings with pitched roofs house a foyer, the canteen with kitchen, several instrument storage rooms, various classrooms and a CNC room. All of these rooms are grouped around the centrally located low-reflection room RAR, which was set up for high-quality acoustic measurement tasks.
The high demands placed on the acoustic concept of the anechoic chamber RAR were achieved through complete acoustic separation and by consistently decoupling the internal structure of the RAR from the concrete construction. This was confirmed by the results of the acceptance measurements carried out. A high-quality energy and acoustic standard was also implemented in the other areas of the new building, both in the design of the building envelope and in the interior fit-out measures.
During the partial energy refurbishment of the old forestry office building, special attention was paid to the existing architecture by developing individual details specific to the building.
