The internationally renowned luxury goods manufacturer Montblanc has created a place dedicated entirely to the art of writing with the new Montblanc House in Hamburg. On almost 4,600 square meters, a mixture of brand experience, meeting place, studio and public café has been created. It provides insights into the world of writing culture and the handcrafted production process of writing instruments.

As part of the project management relevant to building physics, the architects received comprehensive advice on the design of the thermally effective building envelope and, in particular, the design of the very complex façade constructions. A major focus was on planning the room acoustic qualities in the building with its large areas accessible to visitors. Comprehensive investigations were carried out into the design of the surfaces in the individual rooms with a view to optimizing room acoustics. In order to implement the requirements of TA-Lärm, appropriate considerations had to be made taking into account the local conditions, and Müller-BBM was also involved in official consultations.
