The extension and conversion of the Braunschweig Municipal Hospital at the ‘Salzdahlumer Straße’ site in the south-east of the city combines a new building and extension with an existing building in a new and revised structure, organised around a public passage that connects all functions and parts of the building.

Our consulting services focussed on overall building physics consulting, which ensured not only sound insulation, but also effective thermal insulation and optimal room acoustics. Special box-type window constructions were developed for the demanding environment of a municipal hospital, which offer maximum sound insulation against external noise and at the same time guarantee helicopter approach suitability. We also implemented innovative solutions for sleep laboratories to create a quiet and disturbance-free environment.
