The new Wolfgang Lakenmacher Hall in Magdeburg offers over 1200 square meters of sports space, accommodating school, club, and competitive sports. The hall’s lower level includes the athletes' area with a playing field, locker rooms, and sanitary facilities. Above this level is the spectator area, accessible at ground level from outside, with seating for up to 1,048 people. Additionally, an optional 300 extra seats and 12 wheelchair-accessible spaces are available. Retractable partition curtains allow flexible use of the hall, dividing it into three fields, for instance, for school or club use. The facility also includes a weight room and a multipurpose room of approximately 150 square meters for various events. Accessibility is ensured with an elevator and ground-level entrances. To enhance the environmental quality of the surrounding area, 88 trees have been newly planted around the hall.

Müller-BBM Building Solutions provided consulting services on thermal building physics as well as building and room acoustics for the Wolfgang Lakenmacher Hall. Our team ensured that statutory energy requirements were not only met but significantly exceeded and that the acoustics were perfectly tailored to the hall’s diverse uses. The impeccable speech intelligibility and finely tuned sound system create an ideal atmosphere for exciting competitions and captivating events.
