SURFTOWN MUC, Europe's largest artificial surf park, was realized in the Munich Airport Business Park (MABP) in Hallbergmoos. Due to the high groundwater level, the 180-meter-long surf basin was constructed approximately three meters above ground level. Green embankments harmoniously integrate the technical infrastructure into the landscape.

Müller-BBM Building Solutions was responsible for thermal insulation, energy assessment, and room acoustics. A key focus was on climate-neutral energy supply: 90% of the power required for wave generation comes from photovoltaic energy, while the surf basin is sustainably fed with groundwater. Acoustic optimization ensures a pleasant sound environment for both users and visitors.

The iconic surf building, inspired by a breaking wave, combines gastronomy, retail, changing facilities, and an event area with views of the surf basin. The timber-supported roof structure, resting on V-shaped columns, defines the building’s architectural character.
