Room Acoustics
The aesthetically sophisticated new building project of the municipality of Afers near Brixen is divided into four different functional areas: Music pavilion with sports field, school, kindergarten and multi-purpose hall. The two compact structures of the school and kindergarten are positioned on a small plateau in the village center, based on the typical local buildings and accompanied by a multi-purpose hall that acts as a link. The spacious outdoor areas serve as a green play area, sports field and playground for the children. The music pavilion creates the desired character as a generally usable meeting point in the village of Afers.
The multifunctional range of uses of the multi-purpose hall includes school and club sports as well as cultural events of the local brass band and theater clubs. By opening mobile wall elements and extending stage wagons, a fully developed stage situation with a forestage is created. Targeted acoustic measures in the ceiling and wall areas support the acoustically diverse uses. In the classrooms and common rooms, all the necessary room acoustics measures are very well integrated into the visually clear design language. The architecturally sophisticated pavilion in the outdoor area is designed in such a way that good sound coverage can be achieved for the audience on the sports field and the interaction of the musicians within the pavilion is supported.
