Building Acoustics
The new Green Centre is a three-storey administrative building for organisations and facilities of the wood cluster. The building was constructed using timber construction with solid timber ceilings and timber frame façades. Both inside and out, the building uses and presents wood as a sustainable, appealing, modern and economical building material. The building is intended for up to ten different users. A training and meeting area is located on the ground floor next to the building-high atrium.Timber construction poses a particular challenge for structural sound insulation. Extensive research has led to new findings in this area in recent years. These were incorporated into this project in close consultation with F64 Architekten. Traffic noise from the neighbouring main road affects the building from the outside. The façade was therefore designed for a high level of sound insulation during the planning phase. Inside the building, sufficiently dimensioned ceilings and partition walls were used to ensure that the building is also suitable for letting from an acoustic point of view. All room acoustics measures in the meeting and training rooms were also consistently implemented in timber construction.
