On Andreas-Hermes-Platz in Hanover near the main railway station, the Hanover-based company bauwo Grundstücksgesellschaft has constructed a striking, solitary building with 220 rooms on 15 floors for the Intercity Hotel Group. The first and second floors of the hotel house spacious restaurant and conference areas. The building services were installed on the roof, which is acoustically favorable, and the basement houses technical and storage rooms.

The elevated road to the south of the building causes considerable external noise pollution for the façades. To ensure that hotel guests can stay in their rooms undisturbed, windows with a correspondingly high level of sound insulation were installed. All measures for summer heat insulation, sound insulation, room acoustics, heat insulation and energy balancing as well as other specific requirements of the hotel industry were implemented in accordance with the hotel tenant's quality standards.
