The building project comprises the construction of a new fire and rescue station in Dresden-Strehlen. In addition to the functional and social areas for the fire and rescue services, parking spaces for the emergency vehicles were built. The building also houses a fire safety education center for public relations work and a command and situation center for major incidents.

A city council resolution of the City of Dresden stipulates that new buildings must fall below the EnEV by 25 %. This goal was easily achieved in this project thanks to the expert advice of Müller-BBM Building Solutions. Taking economic efficiency into account, an energy-efficient building envelope was planned to minimize heat losses and achieve a high level of comfort. Extensive simulations were used to investigate and optimize the indoor climate to ensure a high level of comfort even in the summer months. For acoustically sensitive rooms such as the control rooms, bedrooms and rest rooms, offices and the sports hall, sound insulation was implemented between the individual areas as well as against external noise. In addition, room acoustics measures were implemented to ensure optimum speech intelligibility and to reduce the background noise level.
