Thermal Insulation & Energy Performance Calculation
A third building was added to a historic ensemble of two listed former school buildings for the new daycare center on Kirchplatz in the heart of the town of Wittstock/Dosse. The buildings were connected to each other via a two-storey vestibule and a glass bridge. The new building houses a children's workshop, sanitary facilities, an elevator and the necessary new staircase. The daycare center offers places for around 180 children between the ages of one and twelve. The project received the highest award for construction: the “Brandenburg Building Culture Award 2015”.
The building project was part of the funding program for the energetic renewal of social infrastructure (investment pact / ESI), which places special demands on energy efficiency. By testing the criteria of the currently valid Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV 2009), Müller-BBM Building Solutions was able to prove that the high requirements for energy-saving thermal insulation are more than fulfilled and that the annual primary energy balance is significantly lower than the energy requirement of a reference building.
