Europacity, a new urban quarter, is currently being built on the site of Hamburg's railroad station. The Swiss company Ernst Basler + Partner has built a German office directly on the Spandau Canal. The office building offers flexible spaces on the first floor for forums, exhibitions and conferences as well as a restaurant. Access is via a shared entrance hall from the prestigious forecourt. Around 750 m² of space is available for rent on each level. Open office landscapes, combined offices, single, double or multi-occupancy offices can be realized on the floors. The underground garage provides parking spaces for employees and customers as well as numerous bicycle parking spaces.

Early on in the planning process, it was clear that a high-quality and prestigious building would be realized in accordance with the principles of sustainable construction. All of Müller-BBM Building Solutions consulting services were developed in line with the desired DGNB Gold certification. The energy assessment of the building was carried out in a verification procedure with a target well above the requirements of EnEV 2009 in terms of sustainable energy and cost efficiency. Comfort and the creation of a quiet room atmosphere were the focus of the room acoustics consultations for the restaurant. Particular attention was paid to the design requirements of the building planners with regard to the sound-absorbing measures.
