The project comprises three buildings between the State Opera House and the ‘Vier Jahreszeiten’ hotel, which complete the listed ensemble on Maximilianstrasse: The new Bürklein building, which retains the historic façade along Maximilianstrasse dating from 1858, will be remodelled into an office and retail building of the highest standard. The new rehearsal stage of the Bavarian State Opera presents itself in an avant-garde design with a translucent façade curtain. The Maximilianhof is being created as an imposing glass cube incorporating the historic portico of the former stables of the Royal Riding School.

Müller-BBM Building Solutions was responsible for all three buildings in the service phases 2 to 5 for consulting in the areas of building and room acoustics as well as thermal building physics. A particular focus of the acoustic consultancy was on fulfilling the highest acoustic requirements for the rehearsal building, which houses a large orchestra rehearsal hall, several large rehearsal stages, numerous vocal rooms, administrative areas and the opera workshops. Sound insulation was realised for the Bürkleinbau and the Maximilianhof that does justice to the high-quality uses of the buildings.
