The new headquarters of ADAC in Munich's west brings together around 2400 employees under one roof, who were previously distributed across seven locations. The new building complex consists of a five-story, dynamically curved base from which a 92-meter-high office tower emerges. On the ground floor, there is a conference center, the company restaurant, and the printing press. A central glass-roofed foyer serves as a representative lobby and provides access to a total of 18 office floors. 40 percent of the total building area comprises the underground parking garage, two data centers, and the delivery courtyard in the three basement levels. In this building, the demand for an energy-efficient building concept was consistently implemented, from geothermal use for building activation to the double-layered facade that allows natural ventilation of the offices. With high thermal and solar protection, the desire to bring plenty of daylight into the building could be met.The user required high flexibility of the office spaces, which demanded special solutions for demanding construction and room acoustical quality of the separating components. In the area of the large printing press, body sound transmissions from the printing machines and the ton-heavy pallet trucks into the building structure were prevented through the elastically supported floor construction.
